નિરૂપણ

(૧) સંત પરમ હિતકારી જગત માંહી

સદ્‍ગુરુ બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામી

વાતની વાત

અહીં કથા પ્રસંગમાં સ્વામીશ્રીએ જણાવ્યું કે:

“‘જગતમાંહીં સંત પરમ હિતકારી.’ બ્રહ્માનંદ સ્વામીએ ગોડીમાં કહ્યું કે દુનિયા તો હિતકારી, પરંતુ સંત એ પરમ હિતકારી છે. ઝાડને કુહાડી મારો તો સહન કરે, તેમ સંતને મારે કે ગમે તે કરે, તોય ‘મારનારનું ભૂંડું થાવ’ એમ સંકલ્પ ન કરે. શિક્ષાપત્રીમાં શ્લોક છે:

‘ગાલિદાનં તાડનં ચ કૃતં કુમતિભિર્જનૈઃ ।

ક્ષન્તવ્યમેવ સર્વેષામ્ ચિન્તનીયં હિતં ચ તૈઃ ॥’

“પરમ હિતકારી એટલે શું? દરેક જીવને માયા પાર કરી અક્ષરધામમાં લઈ જાય. વચનામૃત પ્રથમના ૬૭માં કહ્યું છે કે: ‘કોઈ સત્પુરુષ છે તેને આ લોકનાં સુખમાં તો પ્રીતિ જ નથી અને પરલોક જે ભગવાનનું ધામ તથા ભગવાનની મૂર્તિ તેની વાસના છે. અને તેનો સંગ કરે તેનું પણ એવી જ જાતનું હિત કરે જે, આ મારો સંગી છે તેને આ સંસારની વાસના તૂટી જાય ને ભગવાનને વિશે પ્રીતિ થાય તો ઘણું સારું છે. અને જેટલું કાંઈ જતન કરે તે સર્વે દેહને મૂકીને ભગવાનના ધામમાં ગયા કેડે સુખ આપે એવું જ કરે, પણ દેહનાં સુખને અર્થે તો કાંઈ ક્રિયા કરે જ નહિ.’ સત્પુરુષ આપણું આ હિત ઇચ્છે. આ લોકની વાસના તૂટી જાય તેવું કરે, કારણ કે આ લોકના પદાર્થ બંધનકર્તા છે. જીવ આ લોકના પદાર્થમાં ચોંટી જાય, પછી તેને ‘શું કરવા આવ્યો છું?’ તેની વિસ્મૃતિ થઈ જાય. સંત તેને તેમાંથી જગાડે.

Nirupan

(1) Sant param hitkārī jagat māhī

Sadguru Brahmanand Swami

Yogiji Maharaj said during the kathā:

“‘Jagatmāhi Sant param hitkāri...’ Brahmanand Swami wrote in the ‘godi’ that the world is a well-wisher, but the Sant is the greatest ‘well-wisher’. A tree tolerates being axed; similarly, the Sant tolerates such beating and never says or thinks, ‘May something bad happen to the one who beat me.’ In the Shikshapatri, Maharaj wrote the shlok:

Gālidānam tādanam cha krutam kumati-bhirjaihai
Kshantavyameva sarveshām chintaniyam hitam cha taihai

“What does param hitkāri (the greatest well-wisher) mean? To take all the jivas across māyā to Akshardham. In Vachanamrut Gadhada I-67, Maharaj says: ‘There is a Satpurush who has no affection at all for the pleasures of this world; he harbours desires only for the higher realms, i.e., the abode of God and for the form of God. He also wishes the same for whoever associates with him. He feels, ‘As this individual has associated with me, it would be of great benefit to the individual if his desires for this world are eradicated and his affection for God is developed.’ Furthermore, all of the efforts the Satpurush makes are only for acquiring bliss after attaining the abode of God after death, but he never does anything for the sake of bodily comforts.’ The Satpurush always wishes the best for us. He does whatever it takes so that our attachment to this world is broken, because the object of this world are such that one becomes bound to them. The jiva becomes lodged in the objects of this world. Then, he forgets why he came in this world. The Sant makes him come to his senses.”
