નિરૂપણ
(૧) પ્રેમી જનને વશ પાતળિયો
ભવબંધન કાપનારી ભક્તિનું સ્વરૂપ
ઉનામાં શ્રી સત્સંગીજીવની કથામાં શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજે ભાલચંદ્ર શેઠે પૂછેલા ચાર પ્રશ્નોનું અદ્ભુત નિરૂપણ કર્યું અને ભક્તિના પ્રસંગોનું વિવરણ કરતાં જણાવ્યું:
“મહારાજ ધરમપુરથી ગઢડે પધાર્યા એટલે મહારાજના વિયોગમાં પંદર દિવસ પછી કુશળકુંવરબાઈએ દેહત્યાગ કર્યો. પૂજા ડોડિયાને મહારાજ ધામમાં ગયા તે ગળે પાણી જ ઊતર્યું નહિ અને દેહ મૂકી દીધો. આવો સ્નેહ હરિભક્તોને અને સંતોને મહારાજને વિશે હતો. નિષ્કુળાનંદ સ્વામીએ ભક્તચિંતામણિમાં પરમહંસોના મહારાજ પ્રત્યેના તે સ્નેહનું વર્ણન કર્યું છે.
“માટે જ્યારે ભગવાન સાથે આવી પ્રીતિ થાય, ત્યારે દેહના ભાવ ટળી જાય અને પછી તો અખંડ એમ જ વર્તે કે -
‘વિસાર્યો નવ વીસરે, નંદનંદન નટવરવેશ;
એનાં ચરિત્ર સંભારતાં, તનશુધ ન રહે લવલેશ.’

“પરંતુ ભગવાનના સ્વરૂપમાં જે સત્પુરુષ અખંડ જોડાઈ ગયા હોય, તેમના પ્રસંગથી જ મુમુક્ષુને ભગવાન પ્રત્યે આવી પ્રેમલક્ષણા ભક્તિ પ્રગટ થાય છે. તે સિવાય કેવળ વાતો કર્યે તો તે ન થાય.
“મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામીએ તેથી જ લખ્યું છે કે -
‘પ્રેમ ન નીપજે દેશ-વિદેશે, પ્રેમ ન હાટ વેચાયે રે;
પ્રેમીના પાસંગમાં જે કોઈ આવે, તે જન પ્રેમી થાય રે.
પ્રેમી જનને વશ પાતળિયો.’”

(1) Premī janne vash pātaḷiyo
The Form of Bhakti That Cuts the Cycle of Births and Deaths
During the Satsangijivan kathā in Unā, Swamishri Shastriji Maharaj explained the form of bhakti mentioned in the Satsangijivan and based on the question Bhālchandra Sheth asked Shriji Maharaj. Swamishri said,
“After Maharaj came back to Gadhada from Dharampur, Kushalkuvanbā died 15 days later because of the separation from Maharaj. Puja Dodiyā could not swallow water and passed away after Maharaj reverted to Akshardham. This is the level of love devotees had for Maharaj. Nishkulanand Swami has described the love the paramhansas had for Maharaj in the Bhaktachintamani. When one has this level of bhakti, one’s consciousness for the body is destroyed and they continuously behave as:
‘Visāryo nav visare re, Nandnandan Natvarvesh;
Enā charitra sambhārtā, tanshudh na rahe lavlesh.’
(He cannot be forgotten no matter how hard one tries to forget him. Remembering his divine incidents, one forgets the consciousness of the body.)

“When one associates with the Satpurush who has a connection with God, then one acquired this type of bhakti characterized by love. However, simply talking about such love does not foster this type of bhakti. Therefore, Muktanand Swami has written:
‘Prem na nipaje desh-videshe, prem na hāte vāchay re;
Preminā pāsangmā je koi āve, te jan premi thāy re.
Premi janne vash pātaliyo.’”
(Love is not produced (grow) on any land. It is not sold at shops. One who offers their head (surrenders) to one who has love for God, he also develops the same love for God.)
