કીર્તન મુક્તાવલી
નિરૂપણ
(૧) પ્રાણ થકી મુને વૈષ્ણવ વા’લા
સ્વામીશ્રીએ જીવને કઈ રીતે ભગવાન કે સંત વશ થઈ જાય, તે ઉપર વાત કરી:
“પ્રહ્લાદજીએ નારાયણ સાથે ઘણા દિવસ યુદ્ધ કર્યું પણ ભગવાન જિતાણા નહિ. પછી ભગવાને પ્રહ્લાદને કહ્યું કે યુદ્ધે કરીને તો હું જિતાઉં તેવો નથી. ને મને જીતવાનો ઉપાય તો એ છે જે, જીભે કરીને મારું ભજન કરવું ને મનમાં મારું ચિંતવન કરવું ને નેત્રમાં મારી મૂર્તિ રાખવી. એ પ્રમાણે નિરંતર મારી સ્મૃતિ રાખવી. પછી એવી રીતે પ્રહ્લાદે અભ્યાસ કર્યો ત્યારે ભગવાન છ માસમાં વશ થઈ ગયા.
“આ વાતમાં સ્વામીએ સર્વોપરી વાત કરી દીધી, પણ આપણે શું સમજવાનું છે? આપણે ભગવાન વશ થયા કેમ જણાય? જ્યારે ભગવાન પાછળ ફરે ત્યારે જાણવું જે, ભગવાન વશ થયા છે. વચનામૃત કા. ૧૧ પ્રમાણે – એવો ભક્ત ભગવાનની આજ્ઞાએ કરીને જ્યાં જ્યાં જાય છે, ત્યાં ભગવાનની મૂર્તિ પણ એ ભક્ત ભેળી જ જાય; અને જેમ એ ભક્તને ભગવાન વિના રહેવાતું નથી તેમજ ભગવાનને પણ એ ભક્ત વિના રહેવાતું નથી.”
પછી નરસિંહ મહેતાનું કીર્તન બોલ્યા:
‘બેઠો બેઠો ગાય ત્યાં હું ઊભો ઊભો સાંભળું,
ઊભો ઊભો ગાય ત્યાં હું નાચું રે,
પ્રાણ થકી મુને વૈષ્ણવ વહાલા.’
“પ્રહ્લાદે આમ દાખડો કર્યો, તેમ જો આપણે પણ એકચિત્તે મંડી પડીએ, તો છ મહિનામાં નહિ પણ એક કલાકમાં વશ થઈ જાય.
“એક વખત સ્વામીએ રામદાસભાઈને વંથલી કલ્યાણભાઈને કાગળ દેવા મોકલ્યા અને કહ્યું કે, ‘જતાં ને આવતાં એકચિત્તે અખંડ ભજન કરજો.’ એમ સ્વામીની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાણે અખંડ ભજન કરતા ગયા. અને વંથલી આવ્યું ત્યાં તો વંથલીના કોટના દરવાજાના કાંગરે કાંગરે મહારાજનાં દર્શન થયાં. પણ સ્વામીને વચને કર્યું તો થયું, પોતાની મેળે ગમે તેટલું કરે તો ન થાય. માટે મનગમતું કરવું કનિષ્ઠ અને સંતને વચને કરવું શ્રેષ્ઠ.
“આપણે આવી સ્થિતિ કરવા માટે બજારના ભાવ છોડવા પડે, ખેતી છોડવી પડે, બૈરાં-છોકરાંને અહીં સંભારાય જ નહિ. એમ કરીએ તો આ સ્થિતિ થઈ જાય. કારણ, અહીં સુગમતા છે. પણ અહીં બજાર સંભારીએ, ખેતી સંભારીએ, ઘર સંભારીએ તો ચિત્ત ડોળાઈ જાય. ‘ચિત્તકી વૃત્તિ એક હે.’ માટે આ છેલ્લી કોટીની વાત છે...”

Nirupan
(1) Prāṇ thakī mune vaishṇav vā’lā
Swamishri talked about how Bhagwan and the Sant become pleased with the jiva:
“Prahladji fought for many days with Narayan, but God was not won over. Then God told Prahlad, ‘I cannot be won over by such wars. The way to win me over is by singing my bhajans, thinking of me in your mind and cherishing my murti in your eyes. In this way, always remember me.’ Then, Prahlad tried this method and God was won over within six months. Thus, to please God, learn this method, which is the best.
“In this Vat (Swamini Vat 1/3), Swami has mentioned something great. But what should we understand? How do we know God has become ours? When God walks behind us, then know God has been won over. According to Vachanamrut Kariyani 11: wherever the devotee of God goes according to God’s command, God’s murti also goes with him. Just as the devotee cannot live without God, God cannot live without the devotee.”
Then, Swamishri sang the kirtan:
Beṭhā beṭhā gāy tyā hu ūbho ūbho sāmbhaḷu re,
Ne ūbhā ūbhā gāy tyā hu nāchu re;
Prāṇ thakī mune vaishṇav vā’lā...
“Prahlad put effort to win God over. If we do the same, we can win him over, not in six months, but in one hour.
“Once, Gunatitanand Swami sent Ramdasbhai to Vanthali to deliver a letter to Kalyanbhai and said, ‘While going and coming back, worship God with a focused mind.’ Abiding by Swami’s command, Ramdasbhai went while focused on God. When he arrived in Vanthali, he saw Maharaj in all of the designs on the gate of the fort surrounding Vanthali. This only happened because he followed the command of Swami. No matter how much one does on their own, this would not happen. Therefore, doing as according to one’s mind is inferior and doing as the Sant says is the best.
“If one wants to achieve this state, we have to let go of watching the prices in the market, let go of farming, and one cannot remember their wife and children here. If one does that, then one can achieve this state. Everything is favorable here. However, if we remember the market, farming, our house here, then our mind becomes muddy. ‘Chittaki vrutti ek hai.’ (The inclination of the mind is one.) This talk is for the final step.”
