પ્રસંગ

(૧) હરિજનને ઘેર બેઠાં તીરથ

સદ્‍ગુરુ મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામી

વણતેડ્યા નિત્ય આવે રે

તા. ૨-૫-’૬૯, સાંજે અમદાવાદ આવવા નીકળ્યા ત્યારે સરખેજ પાસે અરુણભાઈ અનડાને કહે, “ગાડી શેઠબાપાને ઘેર લેજો.”

સ્વામીશ્રીએ શેઠ ચંપકલાલ બૅંકરના બન્ને દઁહિત્ર સૌરીનભાઈ તથા આસિતભાઈને કોલ આપ્યો હતો કે, “અમે આફ્રિકા જતાં પહેલાં અમદાવાદ તમારા બંગલે જરૂર આવીશું.” સ્વામીશ્રીએ તે કોલ પૂરો કર્યો.

રાત્રે ૮-૦૦ વાગ્યાનો સમય હશે. બન્ને ભાઈઓ સ્વામીશ્રી મંદિરે પધારવાના હોવાથી ત્યાં જવા તૈયાર થયા. ત્યારે મોટી બહેને કહ્યું, “રીક્ષામાં જજો. લાઇસન્સ વગર મોટર ચલાવીને જવાય નહીં.” બન્ને ભાઈઓ હઠ પકડીને જ ઊભા રહ્યા. બીજા સહુ અગાસીમાં સૂતા હતા.

ત્યાં તો એકાએક મોટરોની લાઇટો પડી. સૌ પ્રથમ ભાનુભાઈ ગઢિયા તથા અરુણભાઈ અનડા ઉપર આવ્યા અને કહેવા લાગ્યા, “બહેનો, સહુ અંદર જાવ. સ્વામીશ્રી પધારે છે. પધરામણીની તૈયારી જલદી કરો.”

ઘરના સર્વેના આનંદનો પાર ન રહ્યો. ઉતાવળે ઉતાવળે પથારીઓ ઉપાડી લીધી ને ખાટલા ઊંચકીને માર્ગ કર્યો. સહુ દોડાદોડ સેવામાં લાગી ગયા. સ્નાન વિધિ કરી સ્વામીશ્રી તૈયાર થયા ત્યાં ઉકાળા-પાણીની વ્યવસ્થા થઈ ગઈ હતી. મંદિરેથી ફોન પર ફોન આવવા લાગ્યા કે, “બાપા પધાર્યા છે? મંદિરે ક્યારે આવે છે? અહીં હરિભક્તો દર્શનની વાટ જોઈને તપ કરે છે.”

પરંતુ સ્વામીશ્રીએ કહ્યું, “ખેંગારજી, મણિભાઈ વગેરે સહુ હરિભક્તોને અહીં જ બોલાવો. આપણે તો આજે અહીં ચંપકભાઈ શેઠને ઘેર જ સમૈયો કરવો છે.”

રસોઈની તૈયારીઓ ચાલી. બહેનોએ તત્કાળ રસોઈ આદરી. સંતોએ જુદી રસોઈ કરવા માંડી. શીરો, પૂરી, શાક, કઢી, ભાત વગેરે તૈયાર થયાં ત્યાં સુધીમાં થાળની તૈયારી કરી, સ્વામીશ્રી કહે, “અહો! અન્નકૂટ થયો! આટલી વારમાં મોડી રાત્રે બધું કેમ થયું!”

થોડી વારમાં મંદિરેથી ૪૦થી ૫૦ હરિભક્તો આવ્યા. અને સભા થઈ. ‘અખંડ આનંદ’માં આવેલ સ્વામીશ્રીના મહિમાનો લેખ મણિભાઈ બ્રહ્મભટ્ટે વાંચ્યો. સ્વામીશ્રીએ આશીર્વાદ આપતાં કહ્યું, “આજે તો જ્યાં શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજ સાક્ષાત્ બિરાજે છે, ત્યાં શેઠબાપાના ઘેર જ વૈશાખી પૂનમનો સમૈયો કર્યો.” એમ સૌને બ્રહ્માનંદમાં તરબોળ કરી દીધા.

આમ તો ચંપકલાલ શેઠ હતા ત્યારે સ્વામીશ્રી અનેક વખત આવેલા. અને કોઈ વખત ઉકાળા-પાણી, તો કોઈ વખત જમણ, તો વળી કોઈ પ્રસંગે રાત્રિ રોકાણ પણ કર્યું હતું. પરંતુ અનાયાસે અતિથિ બનીને પ્રભુ પધાર્યા હોય તેવો આ પહેલો પ્રસંગ હતો. સૌરીનભાઈ તથા આસિતભાઈને પોતાના જ બાળકો માની, પોતે આપેલું વચન પૂરું કરવા, કેવળ સ્વેચ્છાએ લાડ લડાવવા ને મનોરથો પૂર્ણ કરવા સ્વામીશ્રી પધાર્યા, એ ચંપકલાલ શેઠના કુટુંબ માટે જીવનભરનું સંભારણું બની ગયું.

Prasang

(1) Harijanne gher beṭhā tīrath

May 2, 1959. At night, Swamishri Yogiji Maharaj left for Amdavad. Near Sarkhej, Swamishri said to Arunbhai Anada, “Take the car toward Shethbapa’s (Champaklal Sheth’s) house.”

Swamishri had promised Sheth Champaklal Banker and his two grandsons (Saurinbhai and Asitbhai) that before leaving for Africa, he would visit their bungalow. Swamishri was going to fulfill that promise.

At around 8 pm, the two brothers got ready to go to the mandir since Swamishri would be there. Their older sister said, “Go by rickshaw. You cannot take the car without a license.” The two brothers, however, stood there stubbornly. Others were sleeping in the loft.

Suddenly, they saw the headlights of a car approaching. First, Bhanubhai and Arunbhai Anada came inside the house and told the women to go inside because Swamishri has come. The members of the house were excited about Swamishri’s unexpected visit. They rushed to make arrangements. Swamishri took a bath and sat for a light meal. Meanwhile, they started receiving phone calls upon phone calls, asking about when Swamishri would arrive at the mandir, because devotees were waiting for Swamishri’s darshan.

Swamishri, however, made plans of his own, “Call Khengarji, Manibhai and other devotees here. I want to keep the samaiyo here in Champakbhai’s house.”

The women starting preparing food. The sadhus started making their own food. Shiro, puri, shāk, kadhi, bhāt were done and thāl was prepared. Swamishri said, “Oh! It’s an Annakut. How was all this prepared late at night?”

A little later, 40 to 50 devotees from the mandir arrived. An assembly was held. Manibhai Brahmabhatt read an article from ‘Akhand Anand’ on Swamishri’s greatness. Swamishri gave his blessing: “Today, Shastriji Maharaj himself is present here and we have celebrated the Vaishakh Punam samaiyo at Sheth Bapa’s house.” Swamishri immersed everyone in the bliss of Brahma.

Actually, Swamishri visited Champaklal Sheth’s house many times in his presence. Sometimes he ate, sometimes he stayed overnight. However, this was the first time he visited as a guest, as if God visited. He fulfilled Saurinbhai’s and Asitbhai’s promised as if they were his own children. This unexpected visit became an everlasting memory for Champaklal and his family.
