કીર્તન મુક્તાવલી
પ્રસંગ
(૧) હાં રે સખી ના’વા પધારે મહારાજ રે
સ્વામીશ્રીએ ધર્મધુરા ધારણ કરી. ત્યાર બાદ ચાતુર્માસ દરમ્યાન ગોંડળ પધાર્યા હતા. એક દિવસ મને બોલાવીને યોગીજી મહારાજની રીતે જ કંઈક સેવા હોય તો કાઢી રાખવા સૂચના આપી. અને કહે, “હરિભક્તોની સંખ્યા ઘણી છે. કોઈ સેવા હોય તો લાવો.”
આથી મેં ઘઉં વીણવાની સેવા માટે આયોજન કરી દીધું. સભામંડપમાં લાંબા પટ્ટે ઘઉં પાથરી દીધા. જેથી એક જ પટ્ટાની સામસામા બેસીને સૌ ઘઉં વીણી શકે. સ્વામીશ્રી સ્વયં રજાઈ પાથરેલી તેના પર બેસી ઘઉંમાંથી કાંકરા વીણવા લાગ્યા. આ જોઈને જે જે આંટાફેર મારતા હતા તેઓ પણ આવી આવી ને બેસી ગયા.
સ્વામીશ્રીએ એક હરિભક્તને કહ્યું, “હવે વચનામૃત વાંચો...” એક તરફ વચનામૃત વંચાય, સ્વામીશ્રીની મૂર્તિનાં દર્શન થાય, ને સૌ પોતપોતાની સેવા પણ સુંદર રીતે કરે. સ્વામીશ્રીના આરામનો સમય થયો એટલે કેટલાક સંતો-ભક્તો કહે, “બાપા! હવે આરામમાં પધારો.” સ્વામીશ્રી ઘઉંનો ઢગલો બતાવી કહે, “હવે આટલા જ છે. તે ભેળાભેળું વીણાઈ જાય ને? બેઠા છીએ…” પરંતુ સૌ સંતોએ આરામ માટે ઘણો આગ્રહ કર્યો, એનું મુખ્ય કારણ એ હતું કે સ્વામીશ્રી સમયસર આરામમાં પધારે તો સાંજે સાડા ત્રણ વાગે ગોંડળી નદીના અક્ષરઘાટમાં સૌ સ્નાન કરવા જવાના હતા તેમાં સ્વામીશ્રી પણ પધારી શકે અને સૌને વિશિષ્ટ લાભ મળે. સ્વામીશ્રીને આ વાતનો ખ્યાલ આવતાં કહે, “વાંધો નહીં, સાંજે પણ આવીશું. અત્યારે ઘઉં વીણાઈ જવા દ્યો.”
અંતે ઘઉં સાફ થઈ ગયા. સભા વિખરાઈ. સ્વામીશ્રી મોડા આરામમાં પધાર્યા હતા. છતાં સંતોની વિનંતીને ધ્યાનમાં લઈ સમયસર સ્નાન માટે ઘાટમાં પણ પધાર્યા અને ખૂબ લાભ આપ્યો. સંતોએ ‘સખી ના’વા પધાર્યા મહારાજ રે’ એ કીર્તન ઝીલાવ્યું. સ્વામીશ્રીએ હરિકૃષ્ણ મહારાજને બોટમાં પધરાવી જળ ઝિલાવ્યું ને પોતે પણ બોટમાંથી ગોંડળીમાં સ્નાન માટે કૂદી પડ્યા. આ બધી લીલા એવી આનંદકારી અને પ્રેરક બની રહી કે સેવા-સમય અને લાડીલા સંતોનાં મન - બધું સાચવીને સ્વામીશ્રીએ દિવ્ય આનંદ કરાવી દીધો.

Prasang
(1) Hāre sakhī nā’vā padhāre Mahārāj re
Swamishri’s first monsoon after becoming guru was spent in Gondal. One day he called me, and just like Yogiji Maharaj often did, he asked me if there was any particular sevā that could be shared among everyone. “Lots of devotees are here. If there’s any sevā, why don’t you arrange something?”
So I got the sacks of wheat out that needed cleaning. I emptied them in the assembly hall to make a long streak of brownish yellow. Devotees sat down on either side. Swamishri came and sat down on a quilt too. Seeing Swamishri, others who were just wandering around outside came in to join us in cleaning the wheat.
Then Swamishri said to a devotee, “Yes, now read the Vachanamrut.” We had the Vachanamrut reading on one side, Swamishri’s darshan, and everyone busy picking small stones and cleaning rubbish from the wheat.
Soon it was time for Swamishri’s rest. Someone called out, “Bapa, why don’t you go now. We’ll do the rest.”
“There’s not much left,” Swamishri said, pointing to the not-so-small pile still left to be cleaned. “Might as well finish it and go. It’s no big deal.”
We pressed further. The fact was, we were all eager to send Swamishri off to bed on time so that he could get up early and come with us at 3:30 pm to the Gondali River for a bath. When we explained this to Swamishri, Swamishri replied, “Don’t worry, I’ll come there as well. But let’s finish the wheat first.”
The wheat was cleaned. Everyone left. And Swamishri went for his afternoon nap later than usual. Yet keeping our invitation in mind, Swamishri was ready on time to come with us to the river. We all had a great time in the water there with Swamishri.
In the water, the sadhus chorused the kirtan: ‘Sakhi nā’vā padhāro Maharaj re’ (O my dear Maharaj, come for a bath).
Swamishri placed Harikrishna Maharaj in a boat and gave him a little cruise by himself before climbing in as well. Swamishri even dived into the water off the boat’s edge.
Every moment with Swamishri was pure bliss. He took care of both the sevā and the hearts of all the sadhus – teaching us that sevā is more important than just having fun, yet still sharing a few light moments with us.
