(1) Evā vīkārī jannī vāt denārī chhe dukhnī
Nishkulanand Swami continues to describe a pseudo-sant.
Evā vīkārī jannī vāt, denārī chhe dukhnī;
Jenā antarmā dinrāt, ichchhā vishay sukhnī... 1
(1) Mere talk of such a one who is malicious brings grief. Such a person harbors desires of enjoying the sensual pleasures (panch-vishays) day and night.
Ene arthe kare upāy, shodhī sārā gāmne;
Pote potānu mā’tam gāy, chā’ye dām vāmne... 2
(2) He endeavors for the purpose of (fulfilling those desires) by finding a good village. He sings his own glory, while secretly desiring wealth and women.
Kare kathā kīratan kāvya, arath e sarvā;
Bhalo dekhāḍe bhaktibhāv, par ghar mārvā... 3
(3) He preaches and sings devotional songs for the purpose of fulfilling his desires. He even exhibits devotion only to deceive others into acquiring what he desires by exploiting homes (taking advantage of host’s hospitality).
Ethī kedī na thāy kalyāṇ, jignāsune jāṇvu;
Kahe Nishkuḷānand nīrvāṇ, pekhī paramaṇvu... 4
(4) One who craves liberation should understand that they can never be liberated by such a fraud. Nishkulanand Swami says with certainty, one should make the determination (of a sant vs. asant) by examining closely.
