કીર્તન મુક્તાવલી
Translation
(1) Sāmbhaḷ saiyar re (pad - 2)
Sāmbhaḷ saiyar re, līlā Naṭnāgarnī;
Suṇtā sukhḍu re, āpe sukhsāgarnī. 1
Please listen, my friend, to the divine actions of Mahārāj, listening to which gives bliss. 1
Netrakamaḷne re, rākhī ughāḍā kyāre;
Dhyān dharīne re, bese jīvan bā’re. 2
Sometimes, even with His lotus-like eyes open, He would meditate while sitting outside (on the verandah). 2
Kyārek chamkī re, dhyān karantā jāge;
Jotā jīvan re, janmamaraṇ dukh bhāge. 3
Sometimes He would become startled and would awake from His meditation. Seeing this, the misery of the cycle of births and deaths is destroyed. 3
Potā āgaḷ re, sabhā bharāī bese;
Sant harijan re, sāmu joī rahe chhe. 4
A holy assembly of sādhus and devotees gather in front of Him and, constantly look towards Him. 4
Dhyān dharīne re, beṭhā hoy Hari pote;
Sant harijan re, trupta na thāye jote. 5
While Mahārāj Himself sits and performs meditation, the sādhus and devotees cannot have enough of the sight. 5
Sādhu kīrtan re, gāye vajāḍī vājā;
Temne joī re, magan thāye Mahārājā. 6
Seeing sādhus sing kirtans with the accompaniment of instruments, Mahārāj would become happy. 6
Temnī bheḷā re, chapṭī vajāḍī gāye;
Sant harijan re, nīrakhī rājī thāye. 7
Seeing Mahārāj snap His fingers and sing along with them, the sādhus and devotees would become pleased. 7
Kyārek sādhu re, gāy vajāḍī tāḷī;
Bheḷā gāye re, tāḷī de Vanmāḷī. 8
Sometimes, while the sādhus sang and clapped, Mahārāj would sing and clap along with them. 8
Āgaḷ sādhu re, kīrtan gāy jyāre;
Potā āgaḷ re, kathā vanchāy tyāre. 9
When sādhus sang kirtans in front of him, or when the holy scripture were read in front of him, … 9
Pote vārtā re, kartā hoy bahunāmī;
Khastā āve re, Premānandnā Swāmī. 10
or even if He (himself) delivered a discourse, Premānand’s master would eagerly come sliding forward in His seat. 10
