Translation
(1) Sajnī sāmbhaḷo re shobhā varṇavu tenī teh
Sajnī sāmbhaḷo re, shobhā varṇavu tenī teh;
Friend, listen as I describe the beauty of Maharaj’s murti.
Mūrti sambhārtā re, mujne ūpajyo ati saneh..1
By remembering his murti, renewed affection for him sprung forth.
Paheryā te same re, Harie ange alankār;
Maharaj wore many types of ornaments on his body at that time.
Jevā (me) nīrakhiyā re, ṭevā varṇavu karīne pyār..2
And I lovingly describe him as I observed him.
Barās kapūrnā re, paheryā haiḍe sundar hār;
He wore beautiful garlands of roses and camphor (tree) around his neck.
Torā pāghmā re, te par madhukar kare gunjār..3
There were tassels of flowers hanging from his turban and honeybees hovered after the flowers.
Bājū berkhā re, bāye kapūrnā shobhit;
He wore strung flowers around his wrists and arms.
Kaḍā kapūrnā re, jotā chore saunā chitt..4
Seeing bracelets made of camphor, he stole everyone’s mind.
Sarve angmā re, ūṭhe attarnī bahu for;
His whole body gave off a pleasant fragrance.
Chore chittne re, hastā kamaḷ nayannī kor..5
He eyes stole everyone’s mind as he laughed.
Hastā hetmā re, sahune detā sukh ānand;
He laughed with love and he gave everyone bliss.
Rasrūp mūrti re, Shrī Hari kevaḷ karuṇākand..6
His murti was full of such beauty. Maharaj was simply a source of compassion.
Adbhut upmā re, kahetā Shesh na pāme pār;
Even Shesh Narayan cannot aptly describe the beauty of Maharaj.
Dharīne mūrti re, jāṇe āvyo ras-shrungār..7
Such is the murti he assumed; it’s as if the embodiment of amorous sensation came in person.
Vā’lap veṇmā re, neṇā karuṇāmā bharpūr;
His speech was characterized with love and his eyes were full of compassion.
Ango-angmā re, jāṇe ugiyā agaṇit sūr..8
In every part of his body, countless suns rose.
Kartā vātḍī re, bolī amrut sarkhā veṇ;
When he talked, his speech was like nectar (amrut).
Premānandnā re, jotā trupt na thāye neṇ..9
Seeing such beauty of Maharaj, Premanand Swami’s eyes were not satisfied.
