Translation
(1) Hari vinā hitkārī bīju koī tāru nathī
In this kirtan, Devanand Swami is telling us to worship God, as he is the one who has our best interest in his heart (i.e. he can liberate us). No one else - mother, father, son, etc. - can liberate us, yet we expend our life pleasing them. He is asking us to prioritize and accomplish moksha first by worshiping God before we die, since even the great have died before us.
Hari vinā hitkārī bīju koī tāru nathī...
No one other than God has your best interest in heart.
Prabhu bhajyānu Veda Purāṇe kahyu chhe kathī;
Akkalhiṇā āḷsī betho pāmar tu pathī... Hari 1
(1) The Vedas and Purans preach that one should worship God. You, one without any sense, are lazy on this path of worshiping God.
Mātpitā sut nārī bāndhav, nahī tārā sāthī;
Ant same to eklā jāvu kā mare mathī... Hari 2
(2) Mother, father, son, wife, and friends will not accompany you after death. After death, we travel alone; so why put so much effort after them?
Svārthiyo sansār temā rahyo lathbathī;
Santpurushnī sobat vinā shī thāshe gati... Hari 3
(3) This whole world is selfish yet you are totally engrossed in it. What will be your fate without the company of a Satpurush?
Akkalvantā rājkarantā mūā mahārathī;
Devānand kahe āpṇe jāvu kahyu ṭheṭhthī... Hari 4
(4) The intelligent, the rulers, the great conquerors all died. I tell you from the beginning, we will also have to die.
