Harijan thaīne, hān varadh, sukh dukh manmā nav dhārīe;

 Tāḷyā na taḷe, ghaṭ sāthe ghaḍīyā himmat nav hārīe...

Muktanand Swami speaks about one who has become a devotee of God: As we have become a devotee of God, we should not heed to success (or gain) and failure (or loss) or happiness and misery in our mind. We should not lose our courage from the heart even for a second. (Muktanand Swami is speaking about worldly happiness and worldly misery, not happiness related to God.)

Juo Kadraj mahā dukhīyā kā’vyā,

te sukhḍukh manmā nav lāvyā;

 Tyāre Mohannā manmā bhāvyā... Hari 1

(1) Look at Kadraj. He faced many hardships, yet he did not let happiness or misery affect his mind. For this reason, God was pleased with him.

Juo Vasudev Devkī bandh rahyā,

bahu kāḷe bandhan dūr thayā;

 Hari putra toy mahā dukh sahyā... Hari 2

(2) Look at Vasudev and Devki. They were jailed (by Kansa). They were released after a long time. Although their son (Krishna) was God, they suffered such misery.

Juo Pānḍav Harine ati pyārā,

jethī paḷ ek Nāth na rahe nyārā;

 Te van bhaṭkyā laī sang dārā... Hari 3

(3) Look at how dear Pandavs were to God; he never separated from them while they were banished in the forest with their wife (Draupadi).

Em samjī harakh shok tajīe,

thaī ekmanā Prabhune bhajīe;

 Kahe Muktānand Harine rajīe... Hari 4

(4) Understanding thusly, we should discard both (worldly) joy and misery. We should worship God in unison and please God.
