Translation
(1) Jo hoy himmat re narne urmāhī bhārī
Jo hoy himmat re, narne urmāhī bhārī,
Draḍhtā joīne re, tenī madad kare Morārī... 1
(1) God helps one who has great courage in his heart.
Bīk tajīne re, nit himmat soto bole,
Mastak māyā re, sarve truṇ jevu tole... 2
(2) He has overcome all fear and speaks bravely. He does not succumb to māyā or the miseries of the body. They seem trivial to him.
Kesrī sinhne re, jem shankā maḷe nahi manmā,
Ekāekī re, nīrbhe thaī vichare vanmā... 3
(3) A lion king walks alone and fearlessly in the forest, unafraid of other animals.
Panḍe chhoṭo re, moṭā mengaḷne māre,
Himmat vināno re, hāthī te joīne hāre... 4
(4) Although smaller in size, a lion can kill an elephant. An elephant, who is not as fearless, is defeated simply upon seeing the lion.
Brahmānand kahe re, em samje te jan shurā,
Tan karī nākhe re, guru vachane chure churā... 5
(5) Brahmanand Swami says one who understands this way are brave. They sacrifice their body in abiding by the words of the guru.
