(1) Re lagnī to Harivarthī lāgī

Re lagnī Harivarthī lāgī, me tan dhannī āshā tyāgī...

I have developed love for Bhagwan. I renounced expectations of the body and wealth.

Re vāt kahu suṇ sāhelī, re baḷiyojī kīdhā belī,

Listen, friend, I made Bhagwan, the powerful, my master.

 Māthu pahelu pāsangmā melī... Re lagnī 1

I placed my head on a scale from the beginning (i.e. I sacrificed myself to him).

Re na ḍaru hu lok taṇī lāje, re shir upar Giridhar gāje,

I will not fear what society may say. I have a chāndalo on my forehead exclaiming my connection to Bhagwan.

 Ā deh dharyo Naṭvar kāje... Re lagnī 2

I have taken this birth for Bhagwan.

Re shir par jo bījo dhāru, re to bagaḍe jīvatar māru,

If I behold anyone else (other than Bhagwan), then my whole life would be spoiled.

 Hu jītī bājī te kem hāru... Re lagnī 3

I have won this hand, so why would I lose it?

Re Hari vinā bījāne varavu, re gaj tajī khar chaḍīne faravu,

To “marry” anyone other than God is like renouncing an elephant to ride a donkey instead.

 E jīvyāthī rūḍu maravu... Re lagnī 4

It is better to die than to live (if I “marry” someone else).

Re marjādā jagnī meṭī, re bāndhī me prem taṇī peṭī,

I have forsaken the way of society. I am bound only by love.

I have embraced Shriji Maharaj.
