Translation

(1) Karīe rājī Ghanshyām re santo

Sadguru Nishkulanand Swami

In this series of kirtans from Dhirajākhyān, Nishkulanand Swami is speaking to those who are walking the path of a sadhu. In this verse, he explain the goal of sadhus is to please God and fighting the wishes of one’s mind.

Karīe rājī Ghanshyām re, santo karīe rājī Ghanshyām;

We should please God, santo, we should please God.

To sare sarve kām re, santo karīe rājī Ghanshyām...

Then, all of our goals will be fulfilled.

Marjī joī Mahārājnā mannī, em rahīe āṭhu jām;

We should live according to the wishes of Shriji Maharaj.

Je na game Jagdīshne jāṇo, tenu na pūchhīe nām re... santo 1

If there is anything God does not like, we should not even ask about it (i.e. avoid doing it).

Temā kashṭ āve jo kāīk, sahīe haiye karī hām;

If we encounter hardship in following God’s wishes, we should tolerate it with courage.

Achaḷ aḍag rahīe ek mane, to pāmīe sukh vishrām re... santo 2

We should remain firm with a strong mind, then we will attain happiness.

Juo rīt āgenā jannī, pāmyā vipatti virām;

Look at the ways of those from the past; they also encountered misfortune till the end.

Janam thakī māno mūā sudhī, ṭharī beṭhā nahi ṭhām re... santo 3

From birth to death, they were not able to sit peacefully.

E to do’ylu so’ylu chhe āj, tajīye doy dām vām;

What was difficult in the past has become easy today. Therefore, we should renounce both wealth and women.

Nishkuḷānand nishank thaīne, pāmiye Harinu Dhām re... santo 4

Nishkulanand Swami says we will attain the abode of God.
