(1) Hajūr rahīye hāth joḍī re Harishu
Hajūr rahīye hāth joḍī re Harishu, hajūr rahīye hāth joḍī,
Bijā sarvanī sāthethī troḍī re...
We remain present before God with folded hands. He have broken (our love) with everyone else.
Lok parloknā sukh sāmbhaḷī, dhanya mānī na devu dhroḍī;
Marīchi jaḷ jevā mānī levā, temā khovī nahi kharī moḍī re. 1
(1) We should not chase after the happiness of the other realms (of the deities), after hearing descriptions of the happiness there. Consider the happiness of these inferior realms like the waters of a mirage and not lose your reputation chasing this happiness believing it to be eternal.
Hirānī ānkhya suṇī haiye harkhī, chhatī chhe te na nākhīe foḍī;
Tem Prabhujī pragaṭ pakhī, nathī vāt koye rūḍī re. 2
(2) On hearing an eye is made of a diamond, one should not destroy their real eye. Similarly, having attained the manifest God, there is nothing else better.
Rūḍo rokḍo dokḍo dopya āve, nāve kām svapnanī kroḍī;
Tem pragaṭ vinā je pratīti, te (to) gadhdhu mānyu karī ghoḍī re. 3
(3) A real coin is of use, while millions of rupees in a dream are of no use. Similarly, believing that the attainment of anything other than the manifest is any worth is foolish.
Pragaṭ Prabhuni bhakti ati bhalī, mar jo jaṇāti hoy thoḍī;
Nishkuḷānand nische em jāṇo, chhe bhavsindhu tarvā hoḍī re. 4
(4) The bhakti of the manifest form of God is a great thing, even if it appears little. Nishkulanand Swami says believe it as such with conviction as this bhakti is the vessel that can help one cross the ocean of births and deaths.
