Translation
(1) Kādav kerā kumbh koḍiyā kaḍaiyā
In this kirtan, Narayandas says everything in this world is made of mud, meaning of the physical elements, despite that it all looks different and appear attractive superficially. By equating everything with mud, he is saying that everything is impermanent and one should not become attached to it.
Kādav kerā kumbh koḍiyā, kaḍaiyā ne koṭhī jī;
Pots, vessels, pans, etc. are made of mud.
Chhālā ne piyālā rūḍā, loṭā ane vaḷī loṭī jī... 1
Nice chalices and glasses are all made of mud.
Mahol māḷiyā bhāt bhātanā, meḍīo banāvī jī;
Palaces and mansions of various types...
Ghaṭpaṭādik anek rachanā, māṭīnī rachāvī jī... 2
Mountains, rivers, and other forms of creations are all made of clay.
Vastutāe dhūḷtaṇu te, dhūḷ bhegu thāshe jī;
In reality, whatever is made from dirt (i.e. the elements) will become dirt again.
Kāchī kāyā jūṭhī māyā, jotā jotā jāshe jī... 3
The fragile body and false attachments will vanish while one looks on.
Satvar thaīne Hari bhajī lyo, janmāro vahī jāshe jī;
Worship God immediately because one’s life will pass by.
Baḷtāmāthī būkī levu, kahyu chhe Nāraṇdāse jī... 4
