(1) Hājī bhalā sādhu Harikī sādh
Hājī bhalā sādhu, Harikī sādh,
Tankī upādhi taje so hī sādhu...
A genuine Sadhu is the greatest, whose only desire is for God. He has renounced any troubles related to the body.
Mān apmānme ektā, sukh-dukhme sambhāv;
Ahī ke sukh alp hai, nahi svarg luchāv... tankī 1
(1) He remains equally composed in praises and insults, happiness and misery. He considers the happiness of this world as trivial and has no desires for the happiness of swarg.
Lālach lobh harām hai, grahe na gānṭhe dām;
Nārī nāgṇī sam taje, raṭe nīrantar Rām... tankī 2
(2) He considers desires and greed to be improper, unworthy. He does not carry any money. He stays away from women like one stays away from a snake. He always chants the name of God.
Maṭh na bāndhe mamtā karī, shaṭhtā kīnī tyāg;
Kabhu krodh na upje, so sāchā vairāgya... tankī 3
(3) He does not build any living quarters for himself. He does not resort to deceit (is not shrewd). He never gets angry and has true detachment from the world.
Tyāge tīkhā tamtamā, rasnā bhogvilās;
Muktānand so santke, sadā rahat Hari pās... tankī 4
(4) He has renounced craving of various tastes. Muktanand Swami says God always stays near such a Sant.
