Translation
(1) Sāchā sādhu re sundar guṇdhām
Sāchā sādhu re, sundar guṇdhām;
Samjīne satsang kījie...
A true Sadhu is a wonderful abode of virtues. Therefore, understand this and do the satsang of such a Sadhu.
Jī re sant sulakshaṇnā bharyā, avguṇno re,
Urmā nahi lesh, mahānubhavī muni te kharā;
Āpe sahune re, sācho updesh... samjī 1
(1) The Sant is a haven of good qualities. He does not have even a slight trace of faults. He is truly highly experienced. The teachings he expounds to others are the truth.
Jī re sant sadā shītaḷ rahe, kyāre na tape re,
Kām krodhnī jhāḷ, lobh tajī Harine bhaje;
Dhāre urmā re, dradh karī Shrī Gopāḷ... samjī 2
(2) The Sant always remains calm. He never gets angry. He worships God having renounced the flames (desires) of lust, anger, and greed. He firmly beholds God in his heart.
Jī re tribhuvannī sampat maḷe, toy na taje re,
Ardha paḷ Haridhyān, brahmarūp thaī Harine bhaje;
Evā santne re, kīch kanak samān... samjī 3
(3) Even if he were to acquire the wealth of the three worlds, he would never give up his focus from God, even for a second. He worships God identifying himself as brahmarup. To such a Sant, mud and gold are equivalent.
Jī re em shubh lakshaṇ oḷkhī, sadā karvī re,
Harijannī sev, Hari sam harijan jāṇvā;
Muktānand kahe re, te tare tatkhev... samjī 4
(4) One should forever serve such a Sant only after identifying such qualities in him. Understand such a Sant to be equivalent to God. He can instantly save you from drowning in māyā.
