(1) 1-83: Adham uddhāraṇ Avināshī tārā

Adham uddhāraṇ Avināshī tārā, Birudnī balihārī re;

Grahī bāhya chhoḍo nahī Giridhar, Avichaḷ ṭek tamārī re…

O, Bhagwan, you are the uplifter of even the unrighteous. I am indebted to your great promise. Once you hold your devotees’ hand, you never let go. That is your steadfast resolve.

Bhari sabhāmā Bhūdharjī tame, Thayā chho māḍi mārī re;

Beṭāne hete bolāvo, Avguṇiyā visārī re... adham 1

(Remembering the past, Brahmanand Swami says:) O Mahārāj, in a full assembly, you promised to be my mother. Regard me as your son with love and overlook my faults.

Jevo tevo toy putra tamāro, Aṇsamju ahamkārī re;

Peṭ padyo te avashya pāḷvo, Vā’lam juone vichārī re... adham 2

Whatever I may be like, ignorant or egoistic, I am your son. I have clung to you, Mahārāj, so you will certainly have to look after me.

Swami is trying to convey that just as a child born to a mother has to be looked after by his mother (no matter what the child is like), I have come to your refuge, so you [Maharaj] will have to look after me.

Anaḷ ahi jo grahe ajāṇe, To chhoḍāve rovārī re;

Bāḷakne jannī sam bīju, Nahi jagmā hitkārī re... adham 3

If a child unknowingly grabs a snake or puts his hand in a fire, its mother immediately pulls the child away. For a child, there is no one in the world more caring (and who wants the best) for the child than its mother. [Hence, you are that mother for us, Mahārāj.]

Brahmānandnī e ja vinantī, Man dhārīe Murārī re;

Prīt sahit darshan parsādī, Joye sānj savārī re... adham 4

Brahmanand Swami requests that whenever I think of you Mahārāj, please lovingly grant me your darshan and prasādi – day and night.
