Translation
(1) Samvat aḍhārso byāsīne rang karīne sār
Samvat aḍhārso byāsīne, rang karīne sār;
In Samvat 1882, Maharaj celebrated Holi.
Nākhyo santonā upare, thāḷīo bharīne apār... 1
He threw dishes full of color on the sadhus.
Ras bas kīdhā rangmā, sādhu pāḷā harijan;
He fulfilled everyone with bliss, including sadhus, pārshads and devotees.
Nākhe gulālnī jhoḷiyu, te upar tribhuvan... 2
Maharaj threw sachets of pink color on his devotees.
Tākī māre pichkārīo, mukh upar albel;
He aimed and sprayed colored water on their faces.
Kīchaḍ thayo bhumī upare, chālī chhe rangnī rel... 3
The ground became muddy and streams of colored water flowed everywhere.
Kesariyā thaī Ghanshyāmjī, ashve chaḍhī balvīr;
Then, Maharaj mounted his horse.
Chālyā sakhānā sangmā, nhāvā Gangānīr... 4
He left with his companions to bathe in the waters of Ganga.
Hāthī ghoḍā rath pālkhī, sādhu pāḷā harijan;
Elephants, horses, chariots, sadhus, pārshads and devotees.
Dās Gopāl kahe utaryā, jaīne Sābharne tīr... 5
Gopaldas says, they crossed the Sabarmati river.
