Āshro
1. Jenā jivne vishe evā āshrāmā kāi kāchyap hoy, tene e māyā dagāve chhe ne dukh de chhe. Ane jyāre eno e jiv evi rite Bhagwānno paripakva āshray karshe tyāre ene dagāvyāne arthe ne pidvāne arthe māyā samarth nahi thāy.

Māyā does deflect a person who has a slight deficiency in his refuge in God and does cause him misery. Then, when that person develops a complete refuge in God, māyā is not able to disturb him or cause him pain.

2. Jem vajrani pruthvi hoy temā vajrani khili chodi hoy te koi rite ukhade nahi, tem Bhagwānnā charanārvindne vishe potānā manne dradh rākhavu. Ane evi rite je Bhagwānnā charanārvindne vishe potānā manne rākhe tene marine Bhagwānnā dhāmmā javu em nathi, e to chhati dehe ja Bhagwānnā dhāmne pāmi rahyo chhe.

Just as an iron nail that is firmly affixed to an iron surface can never be separated, similarly, one’s mind should be fixed firmly at the holy feet of God. When the devotee has kept his mind at the holy feet of God in this manner, he does not have to die to attain the abode of God - he has attained it while still alive.

3. Motā lagār pan drashti kare to kāmādik pidi shake nahi ne potāni mele game tetlā dākhdā kare pan kāmādik parābhav karyā vinā rahe ja nahi. Māte Motāno dradh āshro karvo.

If the great Sadhu casts even a slight glance, lust, etc. cannot harass. And, despite any amount of effort on one’s own, lust, etc. will still overpower one. Therefore, take firm refuge at the feet of the great Sadhu.

4. Prasannatām samāvāptum Swāminārāyana-Prabhoho ।
Gunātita-gurunām cha satsangam āshrayet sadā ॥
Swāminārāyan Bhagwān tathā Gunātit guruoni prasannatā prāpta karvā sadā satsangno āshro karvo.

One should forever take the refuge of satsang to attain the pleasure of Swāminārāyan Bhagwān and the Gunātit Gurus.

5. Kālo vā karma vā māyā prabhaven-naiva karhichit ।
Anishta-karane nunam satsangā’shraya-shālinām ॥
Jeone satsangno āshray thayo chhe temnu kāl, karma ke māyā kyārey anisht karvā samarth thatā ja nathi.

Kāl, karma and māyā can never harm those who have taken refuge in satsang.

Satpurushno/Santno Mahimā
6. Evā santnu darshan thayu tyāre em jānvu je, ‘Mane sākshātkār Bhagwānnu darshan thayu.’
(Sārangpur 10: Ātmadrashti-Bāhyadrashtinu, Pāch Khāsadānu)
When one has the darshan of such a Sant, one should realize, ‘I have had the darshan of God Himself.’

7. Chār Ved, Purān, Itihās e sarvemā e ja vārtā chhe je, ‘Bhagwān ne Bhagwānnā Sant e ja kalyānkāri chhe.’ …Te Bhagwān ke Bhagwānnā santni jyāre prāpti thai tyāre e jivne ethi uparānt biju koi kalyān nathi, e ja param kalyān chhe.

In the four Vedas, the Purāns and the Itihās shāstras, there is but one central principle, and that is that “only God and his Sant can grant liberation.” …So, when one attains God or his Sant, then, apart from this, there is no other liberation for the jiva; this itself is ultimate liberation.

8. Ekāntik Sādhu vinā bijā koine jivnu sāchu het kartā āvde nahi; ne bijā to het kare te indriyunu poshan kare, temā te mulgu avdu thāy.

Nobody except the God-realized Sadhu knows how to shower true affection on the jiva. And others shower affection that nourishes the senses and this, in fact, has adverse effects.

9-10. Sant param hitkāri, jagat māhi...
Prabhupad pragat karāvat priti, bharama mitāvat bhāri... jagat 1
Paramkrupālu sakal jivan par, harisama saba dukhahāri... jagat 2
Trigunātit firat tanu tyāgi, rit jagatse nyāri... jagat 3
Brahmānand kahe Santki sobat, milat hai pragat Murāri... jagat 4

(In this world, the Sant is the greatest benefactor who only wishes the best for you in his heart… He encourages one to develop affection for the manifest form of God (pragat). He eradicates infatuation that we have developed in this world (1). He is extremely compassionate toward all jivas. He is equivalent to God in terms of destroying all forms of one’s miseries (2). He behaves above the influence of the three gunas (sattva, raj, and tam) and has no attachment to his body. His ways are not found in this world (i.e. his ways are not ordinary and are not found in ordinary men) (3). Brahmānand Swāmi says that by associating with the Sant, one finds the manifest form of God (4).)

Sānkhya
11. Ā deh hādkāno, strino deh pan hādkāno ne chhokrāno pan hādkāno, emā kāiye māl nathi. Ne chuno e dholi dhud ne ā biji amthi dhud. Deh dhudno, rupiyā dhudnā, kutumbi dhudnā, khāvu dhudnu, khordā dhudnā em chhe. Ne emā jiv māl mānine chontyo chhe. Pan kāl khāi jāshe. Māte Bhagwān bhaji levā, bāki badhu dhudnu chhe.

This body is made of bones, the wife’s body is of bones and even the children’s bodies are made of bones. There is no worth at all in any of them. And lime is white dust, while this other is ordinary dust. Also, the body is of dust, money is of dust, family is of dust, food is of dust and homes are of dust. Yet the jiva is still attached to them believing them to be of great value, but kāl will consume them. Therefore, worship God, otherwise everything else is of dust.

12. Sānkhyani dradhtā kem thāy? E prashnano uttar karyo je, “Mānas mari jāy chhe, deh ghardo thāy chhe, te jovu. Ne nitya-pralay, nimitt-pralay ne prākrut-pralay teno vichār karvo. Ne sānkhya ne jog siddha karvānu kāran ā samāgam chhe.”

How can Sānkhya (understanding that all material things are perishable) be strengthened? The answer, “Observe that man dies and the body becomes old. Think of the nitya-pralay, nimitta-pralay and prākrut-pralay. And the means to perfecting Sānkhya and Yog is this association with the great Sadhu.”

13. Zernā lādvā khātā sārā lāge pan ghadik pachhi galu jhalāy, tem ā ve’vār chhe.

Poisoned lāddus taste good when eaten, but after a while the throat burns. Worldly activities are like this.

14. Kar Prabhu sangāthe dradha pritadi re, mari jāvu meline dhanamāl;
Antkāle sagu nahi koinu re…
Sanskāre sambandhi sarave malyā re,
e chhe juthi māyā keri jāla... antakāle 1
Māru māru karine dhana melavyu re,
temā tāru nathi talabhāra... antakāle 2
Sukha swapanā jevu chhe sansāranu re,
tene jātā na lāge vāra... antakāle 3

(Develop steadfast love for God, for at the time of death, all wealth and possessions are left behind, and no one remains connected to us… The relationships we form in this life are mere illusions, tied to past karmic bonds and part of māyā’s trap (1). Wealth, often amassed with greed and a sense of ownership, ultimately was never really yours (2). The happiness of worldly life is fleeting, like a dream that can vanish in an instant (3).)

15. Janmyā tyāthi jarur jāno, marvānu chhe māthe ji;

Prāpti
16. Jem ‘bālaknā hāthmā chintāmani didho hoy tenu tene māhātmya nathi etle teno tene ānand nathi;’ tem Bhagwān Purushottam malyā chhe ane teno antarmā āthopahor kef raheto nathi je, ‘Māru purnakāmpanu thayu chhe’ evu nathi samajto, e Harinā bhaktane moti khot chhe.

Such a devotee is like a child who has been given a chintāmani in its hand, yet derives no happiness from it because it does not realize the chintāmani’s value. Similarly, the major drawback of that devotee is that despite having attained Purushottam Bhagwān, he does not feel constant elation within by realizing, ‘I am completely fulfilled.’

17. Alabhya lābh malyo chhe ane ātyantik muktine pāmyā chhie ane āj to satsangni bharjuvāni chhe ne āj to sherdinā sāthāno vachlo bhāg āpanne malyo chhe. Temā ras ghano ne sugam pan chhe.

This is an incredible opportunity and we have attained ultimate liberation. Today satsang is in the peak of its youth. We have received the central (soft and juicy) portion of the sugarcane. There is a lot of juice in it and is convenient to eat.

18. Āja sakhi ānandani heli, Harimukha joine hu thai chhu re gheli; Mahā re muninā dhyānmā nā’ve, te re Shāmaḷiyoji mujne bolāve...

(My friend, today is a shower of happiness! I have been overwhelmed with joy upon seeing Shriji Mahārāj in person. Even the great rishis struggle to behold Mahārāj in their meditations, yet that very Mahārāj—who is so rare to others—calls out to me.)

19. Mane pragata malyā Purushottama āj, ānanda antara chhāi rahyo;
Mārā sarva janamanā sariyā kāj... ānanda…
Hu lok nindāthi nav daru, ānandmā almast faru;

(Today, Purushottam himself has appeared before me, and my heart is overflowing with bliss; all the purposes of my countless lifetimes have been fulfilled… I no longer fear the criticism of the world; I roam carefree in divine joy; reveling in the joy of beholding the manifest form of God today!)

20. Koti kalp undhe māthe tap karine sukāi jāy to pan ā Sādhunu swapnamāy darshan thāy nahi. Te āj pragat bethā vātu kare chhe. Ne darshan de chhe.

Even after performing intense penance for countless ages while standing on one’s head, one might not even dream of seeing such a Sant. Yet here he is, manifest before us, speaking and giving his darshan.

Rājipo
21. ‘Bhagwān sambandhi bhakti, upāsanā, sevā, shraddhā, dharmanishthā e ādik je je karvu temā bijā falni ichchhā na rākhvi,’ em sachchhāstramā kahyu chhe te to sāchu, pan etli to ichchhā rākhvi je, ‘Ene karine māri upar Bhagwānni prasannatā thāy,’ etli ichchhā rākhvi. Ane evi ichchhā rākhyā vinā amthu kare to tene tamoguni kahevāy.

‘Bhakti, upāsanā, service, shraddhā, firmness in observing dharma, and other spiritual endeavors related to God should all be performed without harboring desires for any other fruits.’ This fact is mentioned in the sacred shāstras, and it is true; but one should certainly harbor the following desire: ‘May God become pleased with me through these endeavors.’ That desire should be kept. If, on the other hand, a person does not keep such a desire and acts without any specific objective, then he should be known to possess tamogun.

22. Je bhaktajan kām, krodh, lobh, kapat, mān, irshā ane matsar etlā vānāne rahit thaine Bhagwānni bhakti kare teni upar Bhagwān rāji thāy chhe.

God is pleased with a devotee who becomes free of lust, anger, avarice, deceit, egotism, jealousy and matsar (envy with spite) and then offers bhakti to God.

23. Bhagwānne nirantar rāji rākhvā hoy tene Bhagwānni āgnā lopvi nahi ane āpanne Bhagwānnu swarup malyu chhe te vinā bije sukh ichchhavu nahi ne kharekharā Bhagwānnā Sādhu hoy teno sang rākhvo, to teni upar Bhagwān ne Motā Sādhu nirantar rāji rahe, emā kāi sanshay nathi.

To keep God always pleased, never disobey his commands. And never wish for happiness anywhere except in the form of God we have attained. Also, the company of a true Sadhu of God should be kept. Then God and the great Sadhu will always remain happy on one. Of that, there is no doubt.

24. Motāno rājipo thayā vinā vāsanānu bij tale nahi.

Without attaining the rājipo of the Satpurush, the seeds of vāsnā (desires and attachments) will not be destroyed.

25. (Pramukh Swāmi Mahārājnā bhidābharyā vicharannu rahasya) Shāstriji Mahārājne rāji karvā chhe, sevā karvi chhe, Shāstriji Mahārāje āgnā kari chhe te āgnāruchi samji nakki karyu chhe ke mān apamān game te thāy te badho vichār karyā vagar sevā kari ja levi. Tenā māte ā deh chhe. Sharir chāle tyā sudhi sevā kari ja levi. Kartā e ja chhe. Bhagwānne rāji karvāno dradh sankalp karyo hoy to vighno āve (to) pan janāy nahi.

As long as the body lasts, service must continue. He alone is the doer. If one has a firm resolve to please God, even obstacles won’t feel like obstacles.
