ભગવદાનંદ સ્વામી ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં પેથાપુર પાસેના કોલવડા ગામના હતા. તેઓ ખૂબ વિદ્વાન હતા. મહારાજે તેમને સદ્ગુરુ તરીકે નીમેલા. એક વાર પંચમહાલ જિલ્લાના લુણાવાડા ગામમાં શાસ્ત્રાર્થ થયો, તેમાં કુલ ૩૬ પ્રશ્નોના ઉત્તર ભગવદાનંદ સ્વામીએ આપેલા. આમ, પોતાની જ્ઞાનશક્તિ સત્સંગ પ્રચારાર્થે વાપરતા અને કોઈને સમજણમાં ફેર પડે કે શંકા થાય તો તેમને સમજાવી સમાધાન કરી સત્સંગમાં આગળ વધારતા. સારંગપુરમાં શ્રીજીમહારાજે ભગવદાનંદ સ્વામી અને યોગાનંદ સ્વામી વચ્ચે શાસ્ત્રાર્થ કરાવેલો.

Bhagwadānand Swāmi was from the Kolvadā village, located near Pethāpur in northern Gujarat. He was a scholar. Shriji Maharaj had made him a sadguru. Once, there was a scriptural debate in Lunāvādā, located in Panchmahāl district. He answered 36 questions. In this way, he used his knowledge to spread satsang and to help others progress in satsang and resolve any doubts they may have developed. Once, in Sarangpur, Maharaj had Bhagwadānand Swāmi and Yogānand Swāmi debate on the scriptures.
