Jhinābhāi

Satsangi Bhaktas

Jhinābhāi was a Rajput from Panchālā, located in Junāgadh district and Keshod area. He was the son of Manubhā Solanki and Gangābā and was born in Samvat 1848. His other name was Hemantsinha. His life was firmly satsang-centered; therefore, he was apathetic to the wealth and conveniences of his kingdom. He offered his aid to many devotees. He was loyal to satsang and understood its greatness. In Vachanamrut Gadhada III-24, Maharaj has praised Jhinābhāi with these words: “...Jhinābhāi Thākor, the virtue of having awareness, lest he becomes attached to any object other than God.” Because of his intense love, Maharaj celebrated the Fuldol festival of Samvat 1879 in Panchālā. On the full moon night (Punam), Maharaj assumed many forms and played rās with the sadhus and devotees.

Maharaj was pleased that Jhinābhāi had personally cared for Kamalshi Vānzā during his final days and also carried his bier to the cremation site. Maharaj embraced his seven times. On Māgshar sud 10 of Samvat 1885, Jhinābhāi reverted back to Akshardhām. As many steps as Jhinābhāi took carrying Kamalshi’s bier, Maharaj walked twice as many steps carrying Jhinābhāi’s bier.
