Kushalkuvarbā was a native of Dharmaj, located in the Charotar region. She had an inclination for devotion from her childhood. She was married to the king of Dharampur; however, the king died shortly and the affairs of ruling were placed on her shoulder. Nevertheless, she spent most of her time listening to kathā. Once, she heard the story of Rukmini and developed a zeal to meet God face-to-face. Eventually, she heard about Shriji Maharaj from Paramchaitanyānand Swāmi. She sent a letter requesting Maharaj to visit Dharampur. Maharaj fulfilled her wish and blessed Dharampur. During his stay, she would steal any moment she could to have Maharaj’s darshan. She captured Maharaj’s divine murti in her heart when she did darshan without blinking. She also opened her food storages to freely serve different meals each day to the sadhus and devotees that accompanied Maharaj. Maharaj had imprinted his footprints on a cloth and gave it to Kushalkuvarbā. When Maharaj was departing from Dharampur, she offered her whole kingdom that included 500 villages to Maharaj. Maharaj declined and told her to manage the affairs without becoming attached to her kingdom. Fifteen days after Maharaj left, she went to Akshardham. Though she only had the association of Maharaj in one encounter, she had captured his murti in her heart and did not let it escape till her last breath.
