Vachanamrut Essence

Loyā-10

  1. The vrutti [toward vishays] becomes mild, intermediate, or intense depending on whether the indriyas, man, and the jiva unite in the vrutti toward the vishays.
  2. One develops affection for God by seeking favourable circumstances [deshkāl – the 8 factors of influence].
  3. The means to not becoming disturbed [overcoming inappropriate thoughts]:
  1. Firm understanding of the flaws in the vishays.
  2. Gnān of ātmā and Paramātmā.
  1. In an elevated state of gnān:
  1. One is devoid of a deep attachment to vishays and the mind does not become disturbed [have thoughts of enjoying vishays].
  2. One remains absolutely carefree in his own bliss.
  3. One feels equanimity in honour and insult.
  4. His vision becomes broad, in which he believes all worldly objects to be vain.
  5. One who has not achieved this elevated state of gnān but has intense faith in God and the Sant, he becomes blissful just like a gnāni.
  1. For one who has faith coupled with knowledge of his greatness, māyā is not a cause of misery but a cause of bliss, because his indriyas and antahkaran nourish his devotion.
