Vachanamrut Essence

Gadhadā II-11

  1. Many people perform pious karmas [such as sacrifices, observances, etc.] only for the attainment of dharma, arth and kām, however, by performing these pious karmas:
  1. They only enjoy the fruits of the three realms [Devlok, Brahmalok or Mrutyulok.]
  2. They do not attain God’s Akshardhām.
  3. They do not escape the misery of the cycle of births and deaths.
  1. If one performs pious karmas only to please God or because of God’s command:
  1. All of his activities are performed to serve God and his bhakta.
  2. All of his pious karmas become a form of bhakti and aid in the attainment of liberation.
  3. His karmas do not bind the devotee [the karmas do not determine his fate].
  4. A person who perceives a flaw in a devotee of God [who, by God’s command, performs karmas for the purpose of pleasing Him], then adharma and its retinue will enter and reside in the perceiver’s heart.
