Gadhadā II-16

  1. By maintaining resolute faith in God, faith in dharma will remain firm. But my maintaining faith in dharma alone, faith in God declines.
  2. Whether one has vairāgya or not, only by observing niyams can the desire for panchvishays be conquered.
  3. The indriyas of one with feeble shraddhā are not under control. He attains liberation after countless births.
  4. Characteristics of one with strong shraddhā:
  1. His indriyas are under control.
  2. He attains gnān and immediately attains the highest state of enlightenment.
  3. When he wants to engage in God-related activities, he hastily carries out bodily activities.
  4. He remains eager for God’s darshan and observing niyams.
  1. By understanding the greatness of God, one’s feeble shraddhā flourishes to strong shraddhā.
