Vartāl-3

1. One who has dharma, gnān, vairāgya, and bhakti is called an ekāntik bhakta and is worthy of being made eminent in Satsang.
2. If one has intense bhakti for God coupled with the knowledge of His greatness, then dharma, gnān, and vairāgya are incorporated in bhakti; but they are not incorporated in ordinary bhakti.
3. Four types of eminent Purush:

1. Like a small flame: they are extinguished by the wind in the form of the vishays.
2. Like a torch: they are extinguished by stronger gusts of wind in the form of the vishays.
3. Like lightning:

1. They are not extinguished by the rain water in the form of māyā.
2. They become an ekāntik sādhu by spiritual endeavours.

4. Like the vadvānal fire:

1. Stays in the ocean without being extinguished by the ocean water.
2. Transforms even the ‘salty’ jivas who are like the saline sea water, into ‘sweet’ jivas.
3. He is God’s Param-Ekāntik Sant and is eternally enlightened.

4. If a person serves one who is like lightning or the vadvānal fire - by thought, word and deed, then bhakti coupled with the knowledge of God’s greatness develops in that person.
