Vachanamrut Essence

Gadhadā III-5

  1. Bhakti coupled with the knowledge of God’s greatness:
  1. Arises in one’s heart by serving and profoundly associating with eminent sādhus [Motāpurush].
  2. With this type of bhakti, one does not encounter any obstacles in any form.
  3. If one does not have this type of bhakti, then one will encounter obstacles in his bhakti.
  1. Sakām devotee: superficially appears to be a renunciant and free of other desires, yet he has desires other than a desire for the manifest form of God; hence, he attains less bliss [i.e. bliss of higher realms of deities but not God’s abode].
  2. Nishkām devotee: He may possess a lesser extend of renunciation and may become disturbed by desires; yet he does not desire for anything other than the manifest form of God; hence, he attains higher bliss in God’s abode.
