Vachanamrut Essence

Gadhadā III-15

  1. Just as if an injured warrior’s wounds are not dressed with bandages (or wounds are not appropriately cared for), the pain of the wounds does not cease; in the same way, if a devotee who has been ‘wounded’ by the panchvishays due to the influence of unfavourable places, times, etc. does not offer bhakti as according to his particular inclination, then he will not experience happiness whilst engaged in mānsi pujā or mediation because he will crave the panchvishays.
  2. One should engage in chanting God’s name, meditation, etc. having recognised one’s inclination.
