Vachanamrut Essence

Gadhadā I-36

  1. Just as a wealthy man views a poor man to be a sinner, the great Ekāntik Sant views a renunciant who craves materialistic pleasures to be a sinner.
  2. A renunciant who is like a poor man:
  1. Does not have affection for dharma, gnān, vairāgya and bhakti.
  2. Develops affection for perishable objects instead of God.
  3. His thirst for materialistic pleasures never abates.
  1. A true renunciant:
  1. Views dirt and gold as equal.
  2. Never makes distinctions by thinking, “This object is pleasant, and this object is unpleasant.”
  3. Has affection only toward God.
