Gadhadā I-64
- Ātmā and Akshar are the sharir [embodiment] of God and God is the shariri of ātmā and Akshar – this statement should be understood as:
- God is all-pervasive, independent, and all-powerful.
- Ātmā and Akshar are pervaded by God, dependent on God, and are powerless without God.
- God transcends even Akshar, who transcends everything. He is the inspirer of all and the controller of all.
- Those who offer bhakti and upāsanā to God understanding Him to possess a divine form:
- Acquire the qualities similar to God.
- Acquire countless spiritual powers.
- Remain in the service of God.
- Those who offer bhakti and upāsanā to God understanding Him to be formless are consigned to brahma-sushupti from which they never return.
- These facts can be understood only from a person who firmly believes that God is forever divine and possesses a form.
