Vachanamrut Essence

Sārangpur-12

  1. Three virtues constantly remain in sādhus: ātmā-realisation, swadharma, faith in God [nishchay].
  2. Understanding of a person with perfect gnān:
  1. He has a clear understanding that the physical body and the ātmā are distinct and his conviction of God remains forever steady.
  1. The method of contemplating on the ātmā:
  1. When one is active in the sthul body, one should never look towards the desires arising in the sukshma body.
  2. When one is active in the antahkaran, one should become oblivious of one’s sthul body.
  3. The physical body and the ātmā are completely distinct. The traits of the physical body are not found in the ātmā, and the traits of the ātmā are not found in the physical body.
  1. By applying a thought process, but not force, when one withdraws one’s vrutti from the vishays, the desires for vishays are eradicated.
  2. As long as enemies in the form of the mind and the indriyas continue to trouble, one should firmly contemplate on the distinction between the ātmā and that which is not the ātmā.
