Gadhada III-8: Remaining Eternally Happy

May 22, 1984. While staying in Manibhai’s motel in Birmingham, Alabama, Pramukh Swami Maharaj exercised in the lobby in the morning. Before walking in the lobby, Swamishri asked, “There are no women in the rooms of this lobby?” He started his walking exercise only after making sure of this. Swamishri never transgressed codes of dharma.

After completing his morning routine, Swamishri spoke on Vachanamrut Gadhada III-8:

“What one needs to do is think about what pleases God and the Sant and what he wishes us to do. We may think we have come up with the best method (to spread satsang) and satsang may even spread to hundreds of thousands of people; but if the Sant says to give up one’s method, one should give it up. If one does not, then the Mota Purush will not be pleased and one will experience turmoil. One will believe, ‘The Satpurush does not understand even this much.’ No matter what happens in this world, one should not separate their mind from God and the Sant. They are the target. Even if one has given hundreds of thousands of dollars and performed devotion, if one missed this target, then that is the end.”

તા. ૨૨/૫/૧૯૮૪. બર્મિંગહામમાં મણિભાઈ પટેલની મોટેલમાં પ્રમુખસ્વામી મહારાજનો નિવાસ હતો. આ જ મોટેલની લૉબીમાં તા. ૨૨/૫/૧૯૮૪ની સવારે ભ્રમણની વ્યવસ્થા કરવામાં આવેલી, પરંતુ ત્યાં ડગલાં માંડતાં પૂર્વે સ્વામીશ્રીએ “તે લૉબીના કોઈ ઓરડામાં મહિલા ઉતારુ તો નથી ને!” તેવી તપાસ કરાવ્યા બાદ જ ભ્રમણ આદર્યું.

આમ, પરદેશમાં પણ ધર્મપથ કદી ન ચૂકનારા તેઓએ નિત્યવિધિથી પરવારીને વચનામૃત ગઢડા અંત્ય ૮ના આધારે પરાવાણી વહાવી કે:

“ભગવાન અને સંત કેમ રાજી થાય, એની મરજી શું છે અને ઇચ્છા શું છે એ જ કરવાનું છે. આપણા મનથી સારામાં સારું કાર્ય લાગતું હોય ને એનાથી લાખો માણસને સત્સંગ થતો હોય તો પણ સંત કહે તો મૂકી દેવું. એટલું ન કરીએ તો મોટાપુરુષ રાજી ન થાય ને અંતર ડહોળાઈ જાય. આપણને એટલું જ થાય કે, ‘આ (સત્પુરુષ) આટલું ન સમજ્યા’ તો થઈ રહ્યું! આ દુનિયાનું જે થવાનું હોય તે થાય, પણ ભગવાન અને સંત થકી મન નોખું ન પડવું જોઈએ. એ નિશાન છે. લાખો રૂપિયાની સેવા કરી હોય ને ભક્તિ કરી હોય પણ જો આ નિશાન ચૂક્યા તો ખલાસ!”
