Gadhada I-28: A Smouldering Log; Progressing and Regressing

Nirupan

January 21, 1964, Mumbai. In the afternoon, explaining Vachanāmrut Gadhadā I-28, Yogiji Mahārāj said, “When one perceives flaws in others, he smolders (like a half-burnt log) and eventually leaves Satsang. When you have free time, understand this Vachanāmrut. Free yourselves from other tasks and read the Vachanāmrut.

“Flaws are inherently present in people, but do not look at these and only look at their virtues. All sādhus are great, all devotees are great, and all are upāsaks of Swāminārāyan! We are all one and not different.

“Oh! How fortunate I am to be in Satsang. If I had fallen into bad company, what would have happened to me? If one perceives virtues in this way, then he becomes great. True greatness is when we experience peace in our hearts, not by attaining worldly status. If one attains the former type of greatness, he will never fall.”

[Brahmaswarup Yogiji Maharaj: 3/583]
