Gadhada II-8: Ekādashi; ‘Gnān-Yagna’; ‘Antardrashti’

Gunātitānand Swāmi said, “Those who perform an [Ashwamedh] yagna send a horse in ten directions and must win all the battles (against those who capture the horse) in order to complete the yagna. Similarly, one who has attached oneself to a Sant who has won over the ten directions in the form of the ten indriyas, i.e. who never becomes attached to the sensual pleasures, is said to have completed the gnān-yagna. That is analogous to completing the [Ashwamedh] yagna by merely walking the horse around one’s courtyard.”
ગુણાતીતાનંદ સ્વામી કહે, “યજ્ઞ કરનારા દસે દિશાયુંમાં ઘોડો ફેરવીને જીત કરીને યજ્ઞની પૂર્ણાહુતિ કરે છે. તેમ જેણે દસ ઇન્દ્રિયુંરૂપ દસ દિશાયું જીતી છે, કહેતાં જેની વૃત્તિ કોઈ વિષયમાં લેવાતી નથી તેવા સંતમાં જોડાય ત્યારે તેનો જ્ઞાનયજ્ઞ પૂરો થઈ રહ્યો, તે ફળિયામાં ઘોડો ફેરવીને યજ્ઞ કર્યા જેવું છે.
