યાદવો
શાસ્ત્રોમાં આવતાં પાત્રો
યદુરાજાના સઘળા વંશજ યાદવ કહેવાય છે. આ યાદવ કુળમાં જ ભગવાન શ્રીકૃષ્ણ જન્મેલા અને યાદવો સાથે રહેવા છતાં કોઈ યાદવ તેમને ઓળખી શક્યા નહીં. મહાભારતના યુદ્ધ બાદ બધા યાદવો સ્વચ્છંદી બન્યા હતા અને એક વાર પ્રભાસક્ષેત્રમાં દારૂના નશામાં ચકચૂર થઈ અંદરોઅંદર લડી બધા મૃત્યુ પામ્યા. કૃષ્ણ આ જોઈ ઘણા દુઃખી થયા અને તેઓ પણ ત્યાં જ એક પારધીનું બાણ વાગતાં મૃત્યુ પામ્યા હતા.

The descendants of King Yadu are collectively known as Yādavs. Shri Krishna was born in a Yādav family, yet none of the other Yādavs recognized him as God. After the Mahābhārat War, their wanton behavior led the Yādavs to become intoxicated from drinking alcohol and they fought internally at Prabhās-Kshetra, killing the whole Yādav race. Krishna witnessed this and became sorrowful. Sitting under a tree, Krishna invited his own death with the shot of a hunter’s arrow.
