પરમહંસો
નૃસિંહાનંદ સ્વામી જન્મજાત મુમુક્ષુ હતા. પૂર્વાશ્રમમાં તેઓએ ભગવાનની પ્રાપ્તિ માટે ઘર છોડીને પૂર્વ ભારતના એક તીર્થક્ષેત્રમાં એક અખાડાના (સંન્યાસીઓના એક આશ્રમના) મહંત બન્યા. સૌને ધર્મની વાતો કરતા, પરંતુ આજુબાજુ બાવાઓનું ધર્મહીન વર્તન જોઈ તેઓ મૂંઝાયા કરતા પણ પોતે કંઈ કરી નહોતા શકતા. એક વાર આવી મૂંઝવણ સાથે સૂતા ત્યારે સ્વપ્નમાં સાદ સંભળાયો, “પશ્ચિમમાં જા, પ્રભુ ત્યાં પ્રગટ થયા છે.” સવારે જ તેઓ નીકળી પડ્યા અને રસ્તામાં ભાળ મેળવતાં ગુજરાતમાં જેતલપુર આવ્યા. અહીં સરોવર તીરે જ મહારાજનાં દર્શના થયાં. દર્શનમાત્રથી મહારાજને વિષે ભગવાનપણાનો નિશ્ચય થયો. મહારાજે સાધુ કરી ‘નૃસિંહાનંદ સ્વામી’ નામ પાડ્યું. પોતે ભણીને વિદ્વાન થયા. ભરી સભામાં પણ મહારાજને પ્રશ્નો પૂછી પોતાની સમજણ અને સાધનામાં પ્રગતિ સાધતા રહેતા.

Nrusinhānand Swāmi was born an aspirant of God. Prior to becoming a sadhu, he had renounced his home to find God. He traveled to eastern India and became the mahant of an āshram of sannyasins. He preached dharma; however, the environment surrounding the āshram was devoid of dharma. He experienced frustration but was helpless. One night, as he slept, he heard a voice saying: “Go to the west. God has manifested there.” After waking in the morning, he instantly left and found his way to Jetalpur in Gujarati. Here, he met Shriji Maharaj sitting at the banks of the lake. On his first darshan, he was convinced Maharaj was God. Maharaj made him a sadhu and named him Nrushinhānand Swāmi. He became a scholar. He asked questions to Maharaj in full assemblies for the sake of increasing his understanding and progressing in his spiritual endeavor.
