સપ્તઋષિ
શાસ્ત્રોમાં આવતાં પાત્રો
દરેક મન્વંતરના સપ્તર્ષિ (સપ્તઋષિ) જુદા જુદા હોય છે. વિષ્ણુ પુરાણ પ્રમાણે હાલના સાતમા મન્વંતરના સપ્તર્ષિઓ આ પ્રમાણે છે: કશ્યપ, અત્રિ, વશિષ્ઠ, વિશ્વામિત્ર, ગૌતમ, જમદગ્નિ, અને ભારદ્વાજ. આ સાતેય ઋષિઓને આકાશમાં સાત તારાના તારામંડળ સાથે સાંકળ્યા છે. આ તારામંડળમાં ચાર તારાનો એક ચતુષ્કોણ છે અને જમણી બાજુએ ત્રણ તારા છે.

Each manvantar has a different set of seven rishis (Saptarshi or Saptarishi). According to Vishnu Purān, the current rishis of the seventh manvantar are: Kashyap, Atri, Vashishtha, Vishwāmitra, Gautam, Jamadagni, and Bhāradvāj. These seven rishis are assigned seven stars in a constellation of stars. In this constellation, four of these stars form a square, and to the right are three stars.
