અવતારો
કપિલદેવ એ વિષ્ણુના ચોવીશ અવતારોમાંનો એક અવતાર છે. તે તત્ત્વતઃ જીવચૈતન્ય છે. જીવચૈતન્યમાં પરબ્રહ્મ પુરુષોત્તમનારાયણના અનુપ્રવેશથી આ અવતાર થાય છે. કપિલ ભગવાનનો જન્મ દેવહૂતિ અને કર્દમ ઋષિ થકી થયો હતો. તે સાંખ્યશાસ્ત્રના પ્રણેતા હતા. તેમણે પોતાની માતા દેવહૂતિને સેશ્વર સાંખ્ય તત્ત્વજ્ઞાનનો બોધ કર્યો હતો. સગર રાજાના સાઠ હજાર પુત્રો તેમના જ ક્રોધાગ્નિથી બળીને ભસ્મીભૂત થયા હતા.
નીલકંઠવર્ણી વનવિચરણ દરમ્યાન ગંગાસાગરમાં આવેલા કપિલાશ્રમમાં ગયા હતા.
ભગવાન સ્વામિનારાયણે મુક્તાનંદ સ્વામીનો પ્રશ્ન વચનામૃત ગઢડા પ્રથમ ૫૪માં કપિલદેવ અને દેવહૂતિનો સંવાદ ઉલ્લેખીને આપ્યો છે.

Kapildev is one of the 24 avatārs of Vishnu. In terms of entities, he is of the jiva entity. When Parabrahma Purushottam Narayan enters the jiva entity, it is capable of incarnating as an avatār. Kapildev was the son of Devhuti and Kardam Rushi. He is considered the father of Sānkhya-Shastra. He is well-known for preaching the principles of Sānkhya to his mother Devhuti. The 60,000 sons of King Sagar were burned to ashes from the fire of his anger.
Nilkanth Varni had visited Kapilāshram located at Ganga-sagar.
Of noteworthy, Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s answer to Muktanand Swami’s question in Vachanamrut Gadhada I-54 is based on the dialog between Kapildev and his mother Devhuti.
