ભૃગુ ઋષિ
શાસ્ત્રોમાં આવતાં પાત્રો
બ્રહ્માના માનસપુત્ર આ ઋષિએ બ્રહ્મા, વિષ્ણુ અને મહેશની મહત્તાની પરીક્ષા લેવા વિચાર્યું અને તેમાં બ્રહ્મા ને મહેશ પાર ના ઊતરતાં એમને શાપ આપ્યા. વિષ્ણુને ઊંઘમાંથી જગાડવા ઋષિએ છાતી પર લાત મારી છતાં વિષ્ણુએ તેમના પગ પકડી કહ્યું, “આપના પગના સ્પર્શથી હું પાવન થયો છું, આપને પગે ઇજા તો નથી થઈ ને?” તેથી ઋષિએ વિષ્ણુની મહત્તા પ્રમાણિત કરી.

Bhrugu Rishi was the human son of Brahmā. He decided to test the greatness of Brahmā, Vishnu, and Mahesh. Brahmā and Mahesh failed, so he cursed them. Then, he tried to wake Vishnu from his sleep by kicking him in the chest. Yet, Vishnu held his feet and said, “By the touch of your feet, I have become pure. Your foot is not injured, is it?” The rishi realized Vishnu’s greatness.
