Parshurām

Parshurām is the sixth avatār of the 10 main avatārs of Vishnu. In terms of the five eternal entities, Parshurām is of the ishwar entity, which are capable of incarnation when Parabrahma Purushottam Narayan enters the ishwar. Parshurām was born to Renukā and Jamadagni in a brāhmin family at the beginning of the Tretāyug. He was extremely bright, scholarly, ethical, wrathful, and brave. His weapon was a battleaxe. His guru was Shiv. Bhishma and Dronāchārya learned archery from him.

Once, a king named Sahasrārjun forcefully took a kāmdhenu cow (a cow that fulfills one’s wishes) from Jamadagni. Parshurām became angry and he cut off Sahasrārjun’s 1,000 arms and killed him. To atone for the sin of killing a chakravarti king, Parshurām went on a pilgrimage with his brothers. Later, the hundred sons of Sahasrārjun killed Jamadagni. Renukā wept after her husband while beating her chest and uttering Parshurām’s name 21 times. Parshurām heard her wailing using his powers and he circled the earth 21 times to kill and remove the earth of all kshatriyas.
