Vachanamrut Essence
Gadhadā I-12
- By understanding the nature of Purush, Prakruti, kāl; the 24 elements (including mahattattva, etc.), one is released from the bondage of one’s inherent avidyā [māyā, ignorance].
- Four types of dissolution [pralays]:
- Nitya-pralay: The day-to-day death of the bodies of all living beings.
- Nimitta-pralay: Destruction of the lower 10 realms of one brahmānd.
- Prākrut-pralay: Destruction of Virāt Pusush in the form of a brahmānd.
- Ātyantik-pralay: Absorption of the countless brahmānds, which evolved from Prakruti, in the light of Brahma.
- By knowing the process of the creation, sustenance and dissolution of the various realms:
- One develops vairāgya towards the world.
- One develops bhakti towards God.
- One attains the abode of God.
- The abode of God is without a beginning and without an end [sanātan]; divine, infinite and indivisible; characterised by eternal existence, consciousness and bliss.
