Vachanamrut Essence

Gadhadā II-65

  1. For the sake of accepting the bhakti of His devotees, God thoroughly indulges in the panchvishays. Seeing this, those who are over-wise perceive faults in God.
  2. A sādhu who has realised the ātmā and has become brahmarup is not infatuated upon seeing any object of this world. So Parabrahma, who transcends Brahma, is certainly uninfluenced by māyā.
  3. God appears like a human, yet his transcendental greatness is not realised – that itself is God’s māyā.
  4. If one has ātmā-realisation and vairāgya but does not have bhakti of God, then he will not be liberated.
  5. If one has bhakti towards God, but does not have the virtues of ātmā-realisation and vairāgya, then just as one has love towards God, one will also develop love towards other things.
  6. When one possesses all three virtues of ātmā-realisation, vairāgya and bhakti towards God, he is called a devotee with gnān, an ekāntik bhakta and a staunch devotee of God.
