Vachanamrut Essence

Gadhadā I-25

  1. Means to feeling completely fulfilled:
  1. Ātmā-realisation coupled with vairāgya.
  2. Knowledge of God’s greatness.
  1. One should not get carried away in the elation of this understanding, nor feel unfulfilled.
  2. There are two types of samādhi:
  1. One is controlling the prāns through prānāyām, one of the eight steps of ashtāng-yoga, whereby the chitt is also controlled
  2. The other is by controlling the chitt, whereby the prāns are also controlled – illustrated by the analogy: if the flow of twenty pails of water from a well is combined, then the resultant flow would become extremely powerful; similarly, when a person’s vruttis have become free of worldly desires, his chitt focuses only on God’s form.
  1. When one observes one’s religious vows - which are God’s injunctions - God will be pleased with him.
