Gadhadā III-34

  1. The means to desire remaining only for God:
  1. Love for God.
  2. Vairāgya coupled with gnān.
  3. Faith in and conviction of God.
  4. Renouncing the panchvishays, observing niyams related to one’s swadharma, and engaging in the nine types of bhakti.
  1. Anger arises when one’s desire is not fulfilled or when one’s sense of my-ness for something is violated.
  2. The great Sant may show anger in order to keep countless jivas within the disciplines of dharma. He is not bound by consequences of this anger.
  3. Means to overcome anger:
  1. Renouncing that object which causes anger to arise.
  2. Developing love for the great Sant and realising one will benefit by attaining liberation by staying with Him.
  1. One should not become angry for the sake of worthless objects.
