Vachanamrut Essence

Gadhadā I-66

  1. When one encounters the talk of the four emanations of God in the Shrimad Bhāgwat:
  1. When the term nirgun is used, it is in reference to Vāsudev.
  2. When the term sagun is used, it is in reference to Sankarshan, Pradyumna, and Aniruddha.
  1. The words of the scriptures cannot be understood in their true context by anyone except an ekāntik bhakta:
  1. “God is nirgun”: this means He is devoid of māyik attributes; but possesses countless redemptive virtues.
  2. “God is formless”: this means He does not possess a māyik form but possesses a divine form.
  3. “God is an immense mass of light”: due to the immense light in God’s form, He appears to be just a mass of light; but that light emanates from the divine form of God.
  4. “God assumes a physical body”:
  1. Due to the powers of God, māyik objects become non-māyik; therefore, God’s physical body is also non-māyik – meaning divine.
  2. He transcends Akshar.
  3. He is the ātmā of countless millions of muktas and Akshardhām.
