Gadhadā I-69

  1. Dharma involving violence:
  1. Is for the attainment of dharma, arth and kām.
  2. Is for the purpose of limiting violence.
  3. Is for fulfilling worldly desires, but it is not for the attainment of liberation.
  1. Dharma not involving violence:
  1. Is for the attainment of liberation.
  2. Is the dharma of a sādhu.
  3. Is only for the attainment of liberation.
  1. The dharma of a sadhu:
  1. Should not bear malice to anyone by thought, word or deed.
  2. Should not harbor arrogance.
  3. Behave as a servant of servants.
  4. Behave in a calm manner.
  1. Having a hostile personality is the dharma of a wicked person.
