Sārangpur-15
- A devotee who has deep love for God but lacks ātmā-realisation and vairāgya:
- His bhakti may look extremely appealing outwardly, but it is extremely inferior.
- When he comes in contact with bad company [kusang], then his intellect will become polluted; he will constantly crave vishays; and his love for God will not remain.
- A devotee who has deep love for God along with ātmā-realisation and vairāgya:
- He may not seem outwardly enthusiastic for the darshan, touch, etc., of God’s form; however, the roots of his love are very deep.
- His love for God will not diminish even due to influence of bad company.
- One who has thoroughly realised God’s greatness, then due to the power of that realisation, the virtues of ātmā-realisation and vairāgya naturally flourished in his heart.
- The three types of gopis:
- Obstinate:
- They would become upset with God.
- They would speak harsh words to God that one would feel they will fall from the path of God.
- Mediocre:
- They would never become angry with God.
- They would not speak harsh words to God.
- Using their shrewdness, they would employ cunning ploys to conceal their selfishness from others and do whatever they please while also doing whatever pleases God.
- Mature:
- They would do only that which pleases God.
- They would not do whatever they please using shrewdness to satisfy their selfishness.
- Their only wish is to please God.
- They would not become angry at or jealous of the other gopis.
- They would not behave in any way that would displease God.
