Loya-7: Realizing God through the Indriyas, the Antahkaran and Experience
Summary
- Liberation is attained only with gnān - knowledge of God. The types of gnān:
- Understood from the scriptures.
- Understood from the external senses.
- Understood from the antahkaran [inner faculties: man, buddhi, etc.].
- Gained directly from experiential gnān of the jiva.
- One who possesses complete/perfect gnān:
- Is one who knows God perfectly and knows the manifest form of God through the indriyas, the antahkaran, and experience.
- Is one who knows and sees God with an understanding of His greatness [described in 2c] and is a perfect gnāni.
- Understands the manifest form of God to possess a divine form, is supreme, is the cause of all, and is the supporter of all; and having become brahmarup he worships Parabrahma.
- Even if he does not see the transcendental powers in God, he completely trusts God and believes himself to be fulfilled.
- Only one who is brahmarup has the right to offer bhakti to Purushottam.
- One who does not offer bhakti to Parabrahma after becoming brahmarup cannot attain ultimate liberation.
- The understanding of contemporary Vedāntis: They believe themselves to be God and they are consigned to narak.
