Gadhada II-38: Mānchā Bhakta; ‘Merging’
Summary
- Whoever has faith in charms, spells or witchcraft, even though he may be a satsangi, should be considered to be half-fallen.
- One who possesses the virtue of ātmā-realisation, vairāgya, dharma, and profound bhakti for God is called an ekāntik bhakta.
- One who is an ekāntik bhakta ‘merges’ into God; but one who is not an ekāntik bhakta ‘merges’ into Brahmā or other deities.
- One who has merged with God:
- He does not develop affection for anything except God.
- He continuously thinks of God.
- If he lives without God, he would pass his days in misery but would not be happy.
